About Pete Madden
More than twenty years ago, Pete Madden chose Ocean City as the place to build his life.
He arrived in 2004 with a belief in hard work, personal responsibility, and community. He did not inherit a legacy here. He built one. Over two decades, he established a successful local business, raised four children, and dedicated himself to serving the town that gave him opportunity.
Originally from the Philadelphia area and a graduate of LaSalle High School and Saint Joseph’s University, Pete built his career from the ground up. As broker and owner of Goldcoast Sotheby’s International Realty, he earned a reputation for integrity, discipline, and results. In a town like Ocean City, reputation is everything. Pete built his on trust.
Ocean City is where he raised Riley, Arvyn, Brynn, and Carter. It is where he showed up for school events, youth sports, community fundraisers, and neighborhood meetings. He has lived the everyday experience of the families and small business owners who make this town what it is.
His time on City Council, including serving as Council President, reinforced a core belief: leadership matters. Decisions made at City Hall affect taxes, public safety, development, infrastructure, and the character of our community. Pete has always approached those decisions with steadiness, transparency, and respect for differing perspectives.
Ocean City is at an important moment. Growth must be managed responsibly. Small businesses must be supported. Public safety must remain strong. Our quality of life must be protected. Pete believes the role of mayor is not to create division, but to bring people together around shared values and a common future.
After more than twenty years of building a life here, Pete is running for Mayor because Ocean City needs strong, steady leadership focused on unity, accountability, and protecting what makes our town special.
Ocean City needs leadership, not division.
Additional Community Experience:
His hope is to keep that sense of calm and relaxation for generations to come while simultaneously adding to
the vibrancy of an ever changing landscape of small town living.
Protecting the Heart of Our Boardwalk
“Ocean City is a thriving family tourism community. It is the heartbeat of our local economy and our identity. When we fail to make smart, consistent decisions, we risk allowing foundational parts of our boardwalk to decline. If a landmark property like Wonderland sits vacant, foot traffic diminishes, surrounding businesses suffer, and the overall quality of our community begins to erode. I am open to the right solution, but I am not open to continued inaction. The city must move decisively to restore energy and purpose to this critical part of our boardwalk.
The integrity of America’s Greatest Family Resort depends on a vibrant, fully occupied, and well maintained boardwalk. Protecting that vitality is not optional. It is essential to sustaining our brand, our economy, and our future.”
From Beach to Bay: Protecting Our Shoreline
“Ocean City’s strength runs from the beach to the bay. Both are essential to our economy, our environment, and our quality of life.
Our beaches need a strong advocate who will fight for consistent sand replenishment and sustained state and federal support. Protecting our shoreline protects our homes, our tourism industry, and our identity as America’s Greatest Family Resort.
At the same time, our back bays must be dredged and properly maintained. Dredging is critical infrastructure that reduces flooding, protects property values, and keeps our waterways navigable.
We cannot wait for the next storm to act. Ocean City needs a long term, proactive coastal management plan that addresses erosion, dredging, and flood mitigation before they become crises. From the beach to the bay, protecting our shoreline requires steady leadership and consistent action.”
Supporting Our Police, Protecting Our Community
“Public safety is the foundation of a strong community. Ocean City is fortunate to have dedicated police officers who serve with professionalism and integrity, and they deserve facilities that match the importance of their work.
I support uplifting and modernizing our police station to ensure our officers have the resources, technology, and infrastructure necessary to protect our residents and visitors effectively. This project is not simply a building upgrade. It is an investment in safety, preparedness, and long term stability.
We applaud the progress that has been made, and we must keep this project moving forward without unnecessary delay. Supporting law enforcement and strengthening public safety is not optional. It is a core responsibility of leadership.”
Expanding Opportunity at the Airport “The Ocean City Airport is one of our community’s most valuable long term assets. The improvements already underway represent smart investment in infrastructure, safety, and economic growth.
This project deserves continued support and clear vision. A well maintained, forward looking airport strengthens emergency response capabilities, supports local business, and creates new opportunities for responsible development in the surrounding area.
We must build on the progress that has been made, ensure thoughtful planning for the airport corridor, and position this asset as part of Ocean City’s long term economic strategy. With steady leadership and consistent investment, the airport can remain a source of strength for our community for decades to come.”
A New Chapter for Ocean City
Why now? Because Ocean City is ready for its next chapter.
This election is not about protest. It is about purpose.
We can respect what has been accomplished while committing to steadier leadership, clearer priorities, and a unifying vision that keeps our city moving forward.
